Monday, October 13th 2014, Schuman Hall of The Faculty of Political Science (24th Sf. Stefan St.), 4PM: The Political Science Club presents Steven Spielberg’s 1993 masterpiece: “Schindler’s List“.
Starrring Liam Neeson and Ben Kingsley, the 195-minute motion picture is a winner of 7 Academy Awards and a piece that movie critics regularly feature among the greatest of all time – the internet community has ranked it at number 7 in IMDb’s “Top 250”.
The plot involves a greedy businessman, Oskar Schindler, who discovers his inner good in the midst of the Nazi regime and manages to save the lives of about 1100 Jews who were to be gassed in the Auschwitz concentration camp. The film is not only a history lesson on the atrocities of the Nazi genocide, but also a testament of the humanitarian values that can be found in any individual’s conscience, despite social status or previous actions and life decisions.
All the English-speaking students of the Faculty of Political Science are invited! The movie is followed by a debate, a trivia quiz, and other surprises.
“The Movie Night” is a project of The Political Science Club, an initiative of the FSPUB students from the English language study programmes.
